PB2A- Psychology
A discipline that I am interested in is Psychology. A professor here at Abington who studies in this field is Michael J. Bernstein. Bernstein published an article a couple years ago on the relation of past perspectives on present relationships. He has a also published several articles on social interaction and exclusion. This is very interesting to me because I have always been interested in the effect of people’s experiences on their daily lives. It is exciting to know that people actually study things that may seem miniscule or insignificant but are actually important in humans lives. Some questions I have are:
What effect does rejection have on relationships?
What effect does rejection have on relationships?
What type(s) of rejection exists? Can these all affect how we pursue relationships?
What kind of experiences influence relationships?
How are social interaction and exclusion related? Is this the same as rejection?
The keywords I used are: relationships, social interaction, exclusion, rejection and past experiences.
The articles I decided to cite are listed below:

I think this is a very interesting field to study, it is also a big field with lots of different concepts and "branches". Are you looking into negative or positive effects on people's lives? What kinds of negative or positive effects are you looking for? And how will this professor enhance your research on this topic? Getting started these questions might help you find your very small piece of this very large pie.
ReplyDeleteSomething you could possibly explore with this area is the effect of PTSD on people, and how it has effected their lives both positively and negatively. the people could either be military veterans or normal civilians.
ReplyDeletePersonally psychology has always been something I have been interested in so I think your interest in psychology too is pretty cool! Something you could possibly look at on this field could be what part of the brain has to do with Depression and Anxiety? And maybe see how it is triggered more in some people then others!
